The Biggest thing for you guys is the "C" Rating from April 2012. That should be your First and most important pont !!

Is anyone organising a peaceful demonstration. Maybe time for a united stance

I agree that the "C" rating is the biggest problem going forward. We have contact our MP, MSP and MEP. MP coming to visit next week.

We went to our MPs surgery last week (Gregg Clarke), he thought the whole thing was a damned fine idea (the cut and the EPC cert) said he opposed the stupidly high FIT when he was in opposition (shadow energy) and that 'Gregg has done a good job'. They probarbly fagged each other in public school or something.
He did listen to our concerns about the savagery and the being pushed off a cliff aspect as apposed to a gentle reduction.
I asked him if he could get us the figures that PROVE that the FIT would have added £27 pounds to a bill by 2020 as we cant seem to come up with the same figures. He said he would, I think I will keep breathing though.
I asked for clarification as to, if we retrain to include solar thermal in our remit, are we looking at the same bungling when the RHI eventually comes in. because it would be a little bit anoying to go through all the training and accreditation again to have the rug pulled out from under us within a week of qualifying.

Hi All

I spoke to my MSP, Angus MacDonald. He was very interested and as far as I know the SNP Scottish Government are supporting the renewables industry.

Mr MacDonald was very concerned that it would affect, in particular, small businesses not to mention the CO2 targets. He also mentioned that a 5MW PV system installation that was due to go ahead in Lewis (Western Isles) has just been cancelled.

If you live in Scotland, it might be worthwhile speaking to your MSP to see if they can help voice concerns.

I hope the UK Government come to their senses (I doubt it as they don't seem to have 2 brain cells to clatter together) and sort this whole panic buying mess out.

Cheers

Dave

while the EPC is the main issue, don't let the savage cut in FiT escape. my MP justified the cut on the 30% reduction in prices, but as I shall point out to him in my reply, how does that justify a cut IN EXCESS of 50% on the tarrif?

The cynic inside me says (possibly hopefully) that the EPC is a smokescreen. That doesn't come in until April, after the consultation period finishes, so will they decide 'after due consultation' to abandon that and we all breathe a grateful sigh of relief that it's just the tariff that has been dropped to 21p when in reality this is also unacceptable.
It is, I think you will find, historically a standard Government tactic to make unpopular change popular.

I agree the EPC is the main issue but I don't agree it is a smokescreen. PV will have to have some sort of energy performance assessment so that it can sit alongside the green deal next year. My issue is, why should PV be assessed by EPC which is heavily focused on heat retention and insulation which has nothing to do with PV (except the few that use storage heaters).

I proposed to MP's and the PM that they should implement a new type of EPC for PV that assesses the properties efficiency in electricity usage. No reply, surprise surprise.
