@Homeowners who accept a quote for a CU change...and agree a starting time...Can I please advise that 5 minutes before the electrician arrives at the agreed time do not put a full load of washing in the machine and then insist that the power 'Cant possibly be switched off until the machine has finished'.If you choose to ignore this advise please dont be surprised and outraged when your electrician bungs an extra hours labour on the job for the time he's had to sit in the van waiting for your grubby undies to stop spinning round and round and round and round............

Your co-operation in this matter is appreciated.

I can feel your frustration with that job

Would it also apply to the kettle getting boiled ?

When i was an apprentice the Electrician I was with changed a CU. He said "powers back on now love", he gave me the 'you stick with me nipper, i'll see you right look' and a wink as the customer walked into the kitchen flicked the kettle on, listened for the scowling noise, flicked it off again and said "yep that works fine thanks, LOVE". I've never wanted to laugh at a superior so much in all my life :laugh3:

had it the other day...
freezer had been of for 20 mins...
so in she came...
"how long will my freezer be off?"

my reply: "as long as it takes love"....knowing full well it would take 24 hours to defrost...

I have had the customer say can you leave it on for an hour ish I have work to do on the computer and need the internet too. It's as if they think we can change the CU without turning anything off.
