I have an 5kW inverter and 48V Lithium battery with inbuilt BMS. As you would be aware, when inverter gets battery power, immediately the capacitors in inverter start charging drawing very high current. This causes BMS to trip thinking it is short circuit. Battery company suggests using a resistor to precharge capacitor in the following way.

Basic setup: Inverter --> double pole DC MCCB --> single pole DC MCB (In built in each battery on negative side) -> BMS -> Battery bank

Add resistor by adding parallel circuit: Inverter -> Bypass MCCB and have resistor on the negative side and positive side -> single pole DC MCB (In built in each battery on negative side) -> BMS -> Battery bank

I am bit concerned on this parallel circuit and not being an electrical engineer, would like to get feedback on whether above setup is ok and what could go wrong in worst case scenarios.
