Discuss Laptop Malfunctioned - Did I Experience Blackout, Rolling Blackout Or Brownout? in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

I used Uninterruptible Power Supply with expired battery and it failed to protect against outage. The electricity turned off in my house and block only while other blocks on street were operational. This resulted my laptop to malfunction but still being powered up so it did not fry (lights were blinking, blank screen, cooler working and nothing happened).

The outage happened for 30 minutes and in the process there were 2 short moments when power turned on for 1 second only. Maybe i had to plug out laptop from wall socket before these 2 happened?

What damaged my laptop? Was it brownout? Does not seem so. Was it blackout or rolling blackout? Don't know, but what is the difference between two?
