Discuss Magic gel in the cold? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

PEG's idea of an IP66 garden gnome sounds good to me. Check your local wholesaler!

I have not used the shark....but green ones by raytech in the past for a large fountain a number of boxes around the edge of the water constantly wet or submerged....they were/are perfect. As for majic gel....I have had issues in the very cold with it running out if a very tiny hole in a jcn box....so just make sure the box is water tight especially if you have conduit attached block it with duct tape!!. As for using them for an underground joint I have tried wiska box's with SWA and short flex attached minus their earth clamp (useless if moved slightly)decent hose earthed clips.... buried, yellow warning tape etc. The box being in a hole with gravel surrounded by heavy stone or blue bricks. located near a movable spot light (location map to customer with measurements). Why ? having used resin for years and still will, in this case it did not meet the need for future maintenance of customers light fitting replacement or additional lights. I have re-entered these majic gelled boxes due to customer demands and found it to be successful ( after replacing the wago connectors in some).

Thanks for the info. I got the litre pack from toolstation and it was £39, but my local CEF wanted £61 for exactly the same thing!
