Hi all, trying to replace a fuse in my fuse box. 15 amp s type fuse(restrictor base) although when i try and screw it in, it gives me alot of resistance and the brass ring seems to be cutting into the plastic threads of the fuse and i can't get a good connection. I think i may have bent the metal a bit removing it and wanted to know if its safe to bend the ring back inwards. 20140114_115617.jpg Im able to screw in the fuse completely with resitance but im afraid the shavings from the plastic are going to give me issues if it gets lodged in between the two contact points

You are obviously in the USA, unfortunately this is a UK electricians website... The UK hasn't seen the type of fuses you mention, for many decades and even then were a rarity.

Try googling for an American electricians forum, you have plenty of them out there...
