SunEdison launches UK domestic solar offer - 05 Mar 2015 - News from BusinessGreen
Was talking to one my friends yesterday who works for a company that is going to be one of the players for installing domestic PV systems for SunEdison over here in the UK.
From what he was saying, they install it on your roof for "Free" so SunEdison benefit from the tariff/50% export etc but then the home owner also buys each KWH the PV has generated for 10pence off SunEdison. I could see how this business model would work for busy commercial/industrial premises that have heavy electric usage but not for most domestic property's as you would have to be indoors during peak generation, using all of whats being produced other wise you would be paying 10pence per KWH that's been produced regardless of it being used.
They have been quoting ridiculous figures of 800 installs a week, I just can't see that much uptake for a business model that seems flawed in my eyes.
