If you are planning on access to home computer I use Splashtop, but they've recently updated it and I think it's now free to connect on you LAN but something likes £6 per month or whatever to access remotely.

I've not looked into alternative methods yet.

Hello to one and all,

Apple TV is a tiny entertainment powerhouse that plays the content you love from iTunes, Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, and your favorite sports leagues on your widescreen TV. In up to 1080p HD. Just plug it in and discover a whole world of movies, TV shows, photos, music, and more. You’re gonna need a better couch.

Thanks and Regards,
Steven Brooks

Yep, Adams spot on mate audio only from Sky Go. There is a pirate hack doing the rounds on the black sites for the Sky Go box which will allow video, but I believe the Sky Go box 'phones home' telling Sky the default settings have been altered, so not advisable.

I have parallels installed on my macbook and I have the parallels app on the ipad, I can then access anything on the mac through the ipad, that is both anything on the mac OS and Windows 7 that is installed.

A fun game to play is when the wife is on the mac, sit next to her on the ipad, fire up parallels on ipad then take control of the cursor, each time she goes to move it to a web page or something, move it back before she clicks on it. Trust me, it is funny.

Hello,

I have an iPhone 4S. I really like it and try to develop an app for it. I am not a professional developer but interested in smartphones, computers and technology. I came across a page that has information about app development for iPhone and code snippets as well. I found the information to be very useful during the development process. In case you also would like to develop an own app for your iPhone or iPad then this is an ideal place to get things started (if you are interested Google on: "voip-sip-sdk/page457-How to build an iPhone/iPad VoIP client"). Hope you will find this information useful.

To access your home computer with the IPad you need to install the file browser app, works brill for me, even grants access to NAS drives etc.

eKit Camera/TV/Memory Card Connection Kit - all iPads and iPhone 4S/4

Advice please on data transfer, I am relatively new to data transfer ability on Apple products, I was under the impression that most types of files had to be uploaded via the store to then be synced with the Pad to transfer them, but I see connectors like the one in the link, and would like to know if you can import files and what types via these devices ?
Thanks J

The Apple Genius just has to be Sir Isaac Newton who after a falling apple landed on his head discovered gravity & lots of other technical things. :biggrinjester:

I brought the Apple TV, if that's what you mean, not a bad but if kit for 99 quid, good for watching films and stuff from iTunes but that works out a bit expensive, Netflix is ok but a lot of old stuff on it.
Good for YouTube, like I said its ok for the money but a bit limited.

Just use Vuze for your 'illegal' downloads.
Everyone else does.
I've got most of my music now off there, having already paid once or twice for the vinyl and CD versions.

If you own the music it might be legal (depending on local laws) to download an electronic version as a back-up under 'fair use' or 'AHRA' laws. The problem with using vuse is that bittorrent sharing means you're also indiscriminately uploading to others whilst you're downloading which is usually illegal. It's also worth noting that using the bittorrent protocol your ipaddress is out there for all to see unless you're using a secure VPN. Again depending on local laws it might be better to use a direct download site such as mediafire/rapidshare.

I've no idea what the law stands on this subject.
I've been at it now for getting on 10 years. Not heavy usage. The occasional film, it's not that much different from taping off the TV really. I'll just hide in the over whelming number of users excuse!:)

There has just been a recent case of a load of downloaders getting sued?
