hope somebody can help ? i am wondering if there is a time limit on a new domestic installation designed to the 16th edition before it is installed and completed. 17th edition regs only state that all installations designed after 1st july 2008 must comply with 17th edition. but what about what was designed before ?

An example of an installation our firm have done.

Project designed March 2008

Project started December 2008

Project completed and tested April 2010 all to the 16th edition.

This sounds all too familiar Tony, were you at brighouse today????

Ps welcome to the forum

You will find there is a 5 year limit between planning applications and their expiry, therefore, plan drawn in Jun 08 with sucessfull planning application. Ground then cut Jun 2013 and could theoretically be done to 16th.....
