Can any one help..?

Having not installed any SWA before I’m about to undertake a job to install 6mm 2core cable to agarage. The cable would need to be buried for approx. 20m in the ground – whichI’m allowing to go 500mm deep. However it is when the cable first enters theground and when it comes out I’m concerned - remaining areas will be fixedevery 300mm onto concrete gravel boards etc – what mechanical protection would Ineed as it vertically enters and leaves the ground? To protect from strimmeretc.

Also I’m allowing for a IP65 rated garage consumer board withstandard sockets and switches - but are there any limiting factors ininstalling by windows and doors?

Gasp! A two core swa?!
What are you going to use for an earth facility?

That'll be what the metal coat hanger brayed into the ground is for.

Don't worry about it Trev - this guy is an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - he knows what he's doing ;)

Anyone got a spare gasp I can borrow

It seems there's not many left and I could use one in another thread

I blame the overuse of double gasps lately

With immediate effect all gasps are rationed to ONE gasp per thread until further notice.

By Order of Desperate Dan.

Good plan...who needs earthing anyway? The cable would need to be buried for approx. 20m in the ground – whichI’m allowing to go 500mm deep. No mechanical protection required, but if you can find room on the DB apply a 'NO STRIMMERS' sticker. If not you will have to install another DB to accomodate it.

Also I’m allowing for a IP65 rated garage consumer board withstandard sockets and switches - but are there any limiting factors ininstalling by windows and doors? Same rules as sinks I believe....minimum 150 mm distance....(or is that gas pipes?)

Hope this doesnt help.
