Hi Guys,

I think this might have been asked before, but I can't find the thread so please forgive me if it has.

I need to fit a satellite multiswitch to supply 10 outlets in 1 house.
The Antiference unit I have says that earth bonding between all cables and the building PME is required.
Is this requirement because they expect the outlets to be in separate flats (equipotential zones) and therefore not required in a single dwelling.
After all we wouldn't normally bond multiple TV points or satellite points when supplied by up to an octo LNB in a single household.

Any advice, knowledge or opinions would be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

I'm a bit confused by this, but willing to learn. I've had a look at the other thread, which seems to suggest that all coax in the home should be earthed. But the like of Sky don't earth anything when installing dishes etc., so am I missing something?

itonly applies to communal aerials/dishes that feed multiple dwellings. at a guess, i think it's so that a fault in 1 flat can't make the aerial system in anither flat "live".

That's what I was thinking, but in the other thread the guy who seems to know, Aok1, says that it applies to domestic as well "This has now been brought into the domestic sector due to the high touch current that could be acheived by having several class II appliances connected together."

Just downloaded this from CAI website, thought it might be of interest.
It does seem to imply that bonding is required in single households with a multiroom setup certainly on new builds and rewires.
