Hi
I'm presently self employed contractor based in the West Midlands. In the past I've been employed by what some would call, "big companys" in which your a small cog in a very large machine. I've also been employed by smaller firms, in which the MD calls you by your nickname and laughs at jokes, blah blah. To cut a long story short, I decided to start out on my own and went back to domestic work where i started. Its been a year now and i'm confident that there is work out there. I'd like to take on bigger jobs and diversify a little. I have an apprentice whos also keen to experience more, and also a few sub contractors i use from time to time . I've got no idea about how to tender or even advertise, I guess what i'm looking for is advice on how to move to the next level of electrical contracting. I figure, all these companys out there had to start from somewhere so a mentor can't be hard to find, or failing that a kind pointer in the right direction.
Thanks for listening.
