Hi guys I'm searching for information relating to the AM2 I've got it booked for the 12 of November I'm also in the process of completing the NVQ3 which is taking ages as I am working on trains at the moment and theres not much installing just doing continuity and IR testing so completing my portfolio is becoming a drag as not much evidence. Any pointers would be appreciated

Hi Mark, welcome to the forums.

Is there specific information you're after about the AM2?

Hi I am a bit concerned about the fault finding as I've not done much. The installation of the DOL motor circuit is also a concern do you get a wiring diagram for this circuit. I've done the prep day so got a bit of info about the overload setting just a bit unsure how it is to be wired. Thanks

I thought you couldn't book AM2 until your portfolio was complete?

No pal Net need you to fill out a form before you book it to verify you are ready with each aspect and your training provider is "supposed" to sign it. I will have done the AM2 before i complete the portfolio.

Well that's not what my college is saying. However they have been known to give out wrong information before.

We were all told the AM2 cannot be booked until the portfolio is complete

I've done the level 2 and level 3 diploma and 17th edition among other things I Started NVQ3 this time last year. I've got the AM2 booked for 12 November. They didn't ask about the NVQ portfolio or any previous qualifications I just needed confirmation I was ready as I say just had to fill in a declaration form to verify I was ready for each aspect.

Well it's probably the college using the AM2 as a scare tactic to ensure students complete the portfolio in time
