Elkay Custom Light

Hi Lads,

Just wondering if any of you have had any problems with the elkay custom light programmeable controller?

I fitted one of these in my 5 month old sons bedroom, thought itd be good as a dimmer for now and a night light when he gets a bit older. How wrong was i!

It looks as though a component in the unit has failed which caused a short in the switching circuit, as just before the unit burnt out the bedroom light wouldnt turn off. I can only guess this was the case as im a spark offshore and only going by the pics the girlfriend sent out and what she described on the phone.

Just thought i'd make you guys aware of the problem and show you the pictures to see what you think.

Sorry to hear about that. I've installed 4-5 of these and had no problem. In your shoes I would be sending this back to the manufacturer for them to review.
What type/W of lamp(s) was it serving?
Glad no harm/major damage was caused!

Hi polo1, was just switching a 60W BC lamp. Bad show from elkay when they are rated to 400W

This product does state for use with an Incandescent load 400W.

I do hope you are aware it is not suitable for low energy bulbs, Leds etc.
