Hi, anyone any initial thoughts on this - Electric shower with cord pull isolator with neon indicator. Shower gets used then 3 to 4 mins into shower it stops, neon indicator in pull switch goes out. Go and pull the switch a couple of times and the shower comes back on and works ok. This has happened a few times recently but not every time the shower is used. Could it be something as simple as loose wires in the pull switch?

First and easiest way is wait till it occurs and check power at shower itself then that eliminates the shower,it could be faulty pull switch or as you said loose wire in pull switch, either way if it isnt evident when you open it up id replace it anyway just to eliminate this possible cause, if you find a loose wire be cautious of just tightening it up, look for discoloured copper or brass if you see it change pull switch as the terminal would have got very hot changing the characteristics of the metal, and this may effect its ability to carry the current.
