Hi just about to have a oven 3.6kw,combi microwave 3.6kw,hob 6.6kw fitted,the electrician is splitting the original 6mm cable to seperate isolation points for these appliances,my doubt is ,is this cable big enough electrician assures me if the diversty is taken into consideration the cable is big enough,and also states a 6mm cooking cable within the new regulations is allowed upto 15kw,can someone let me know if this is correct
 
well generally with ovens....you take the first 10A....then 30% of whats left.....now then...if the cooker switch (double pole) has a BS1363 outlet on it...just add 5A......
 
he's right. you have 13.8KW. that equates to 60A. applying diversity... 10A + 15A = 25A . so 6mm on a 32A MCB is fine .

thanks for that i shall be able to sleep now,knowing that when he turns up tomorrow it is going to be okay.the cable is under upstairs flooring so imagine insulation is little or none,Thanks
