Been thinking over the last week about August and the 16p. The returns are still there.

I've been thinking of plugging a new financial product called a Solar Annuity.

Lots of older folks close to retirement are not getting the same returns on their annuities as the people that done it say 20 years ago.

Best thing is I live in a retirement town so should work.

You give me £6k and I'll give you £500 back each year tax free plus a minimum of a £100 a year savings on your bills.

Any thought?

I'd mention it's protected against inflation. That's the problem with ISAs and savings accounts. You save at 3% in an ISA but inflation is 3% so you don't actually make a profit in real terms.

As you are probably not regsitered with the FSA, you must be very careful with your marketing and mis-information

I agree that the wording would have to be rather 'Vague' so the PV police don't come knocking but it's more about likening the FITS to something that they may already understand in financial terms.

Good idea if you can get round the FSA bit - 6k really?? Do you need to go that low? I can't get anything savings wise that's more than 4% and I have to pay tax because I've used my ISA limit - so 6% guaranteed for 20 years index linked and tax free, would be brilliant. How much do we need to sell at to achieve that?

My wholesalers are telling me there isn't much downward movement in the market and I can't cut much more off our install price - I might as well get a job! Err forgot - I'm unemployable, worked for myself too long ;-)
