Noob Question need help help on old mode of multimeter

I recently bought a Uni-T multimeter, Press and hold power button to enter into Hold mode.

Can someone explain to me what is hold mode of multimeter and what is stand for Hold mode.

you put the probes onto what you are measuring. trhen press the hold and it keeps the reading after you take the probes off. very useful when you can't see the reading at times. so with hold, you can look at the reading after.
