have a nose at this link about electrics in india, BBC News - Why India loves a good electrician

made me chuckle, everyday the company i work for employs more Indian electricians to replace Brits saying that they have the same skill set! (cheaper), apparently we are only needed these days to test and design!

Ahhh, all makes sense now!! All the Chartered Engineers in your company are all Indian and hired in India. You could have explained this before!! ...lol!!!

probably getting used ..........£ 2 an hour or something instead of paying UK or US workers £15 odd an hour.....when the first big dust storm was on the go(1991) my dad got offered something like £90 odd an hour even when he slept to go out and work just over the border to put up buildings, that was because of the risk of getting fumigated by sad-nam ......he turned it down because he didn't like the sound of it or the 50/50 risk.......that was 21 years ago,and would have been tax free in those days as well, unlike now when you have to be away for 2 years and then they try to take away your passport and driving licence/NI Number....

Still Tax free and NI free mate, work 9 months and have approx 80 days a year in the UK. but a full tax year has to be worked away before full NT status. still a UK resident with UK assets. you keep your passport and driving licence.

Not sure where you got that information from, but it's wrong, it's much like Frank explained above!! There are a few little nuances that can get involved when your working for a UK registered company, but they can normally be resolved, .....Eventually!! lol!!!
