Hi all,

I'm trying to build a wall of 6ft fluorescent tubes, creating an effect similar to this:

I'm looking for a way of achieving this effect, spending as little as possible as I can't afford fabrication.

I've been considering buying the tubes, starters, ballasts and tube holders individually, installing them as best I can on a single wall panel before getting an electrician to check it over.

I'm having trouble taking that first step in getting the right materials for the job.
Here's the kind of thing I'm looking at:

PHILIPS T8 FLUORESCENT TUBES 6ft 1800mm 70w 840 FREE SHIPPING | eBay

25 X GE starters for fluorescent tubes 70w-100w | eBay

Tridonic PC 1/70 T8 PRO Ballast - Runs 1 x 70w T8 Fluorescent tube: Amazon.co.uk: Lighting

I'm wondering if I can run all the tubes (20 x T8 70w bulbs) off a single ballast, or perhaps a few. If so of what kind?

I'm also hoping to run this off a single plug if possible.

Hoping to build this thing for around ÂŁ250 total.

Any advice for wiring and parts welcomed as I am a total (yet capable) novice needing a few pointers.

Many thanks!
