just want to ask are those one day rewires worth it in terms of money...they seem pretty good to be honest.. yes i know ur a tool and the rest of it.

but like 550 for 1 bed

could be split like this

2 sparks 250 each

mate/labourer 50 quid

and the job can be done in one day. whats ur thoughts i dont mind working extra hours even 10 hours is fine

a decent mate/labourer is worth more than 50 a day,if you want to get it finished in a day you will need a fairly decent standard of help...50 quid wont do it. Bit greedy wanting 250 for you and 50 for the guy who helped you make your money!! The game is a mess at the moment 500 quiz for a rewire is a joke

Well it won't be done properly, it takes 4 hours to test and fill in certification, there will be time invoicing and chasing payment as well, add that up and 10 hours isn't enough even for a one bed flat, there must be several sockets and lights, cooker, shower bonding dist board, certification etc etc etc, have fun with that.

only joking lad that was just an example off course i would not pay someone 50 quid...100 quid will do for the labourer and 200 quid in the sparks pockets... theres no mentioning of testing

I have never had a labourer go home without being exhausted fella so at 50 a day it is wrong. Now most of the guys here know I am a socialist so obviously I will never agree with 50 quid for a 10 hour hard day, I would price the job at £1,300, £225.00 a day for the sparks and 125 a day for the mate with 100 quid left for the paperwork and certification/ chasing the money, hense my earlier comment that 550 isn't acceptable money. Being a mate on a rewire is serious graft, 50 a day is appalling JMO.

we are all entitled to opinions and i agree with yours..
but sometimes u just have to accept the fact that i know a 1 bed rewire should not be 550 quid and that somebody else is making bigger money. but at the end of the day of its not me or you someone else will be up for it..and 200 aint bad at all even if 12 hours put in

I personally would leave that for someone else then. I'll be damned if someone is going to make money off me busting my nuts.
Surely round your way that money for those hours is far from remarkable, and I'm sure it could be acheived without working under pressure every day, not going til it's done, and exploiting some poor sod to do it.

you will be suprised mate. the going rate here is around 15 to 20 quid for sparks...supervisors at 17 to 23 quid..

pvc trunking and singles, using the old embedded conduit where they could

had to have three sockets per room, so in each room they just stuck three doubles next to each other lol

fuse boards were the best entertainment

i quickly became the most unpopular bloke on site!

550 for a lash up, pattresses over pride, switch it all on if nothing goes bang make up the results and head off for a well deserved sleepless night. Or do a proper job for proper money and let somesome other mug do a backflip for £250.

the problen is mate its not as easy as people are saying 'yeah just go and find proper money' as if i can just go and find a rewire to do quoting it all my self
