system extension with out dno approval

I have a customer that wants to add another 4KWp to a 4KWp we installed last year providing we can get it done by the 31st. I think it will get approval but not before the cut off and have explained that to him but he says he's willing to risk refusal providing he can beat the deadline and make a claim for the fit.

Can you make a claim for the fit if you have installed and commissioned the system even if you haven't had dno approval for the extension first?

ASFAIK Yes - it never asks for proof of connection/permission of connection - sure someone else will confirm.

However - bear in mind the Commissioning Form asks which standard you've done it to G83/1 or G59/2 and that will be down to the DNO.

Also bear in mind that the DNO could refuse ...

However, surely you can set the system up, commission it, so you meet all the MCS requirements, howevere if you DON't connect it to the grid - do ALL the AC work and then lock off the lockable AC isolator , it hasn't been grid connected and is prevented from being so, and then you haven't broken any DNO rules either

Wait for DNO permission and then fire up.

It's only when you send the form in to the DNO post commissioning that you have to test the islanding and re-connect. ..

In theory therefore yes.
