Good Evening.

I am in the process of making some slight alterations to my Utility room, and there is a Twin and Earth cable that needs re-locating.

It is a 20Amp Radial circuit for the socket outlets, solely for the Utility room, protected by a 20 Amp MCB and 30mA RCD.

I need to re-locate the cable and there are two options of where it can run, and the easiest being next to a copper cold water pipe, of which it will be very close (about 1cm) to it but not touching. I understand there is a minimum distance regarding Hot water pipes and Gas pipes but unsure about Cold water pipes.

Any help/advice on this would be much appreciated (of course if it has to be re-routed the more difficult route then I fully understand so be it).

Kind Regards

xhould be 25mm (1") away from water pipe to complywith regs. however, as it's a cold water pipe i can't see any detriment to the cable,so it's basically down to what you can achieve.

Many thanks, I thought though the 25mm rule was applicable to hot pipes and gas pipes, but if as you suggest, it applies to all pipework, then OK. Cheers.
