Who has a trade waste license here?

I've been hearing of more and more people down my way having their collar felt carrying scrap etc.

I've looked on the environment agency website which is pretty much as clear as mud but it seems that any by products are controlled and need an upper tier registration.....is this right?

Ta muchly!

you'll be better off giving them a buzz, lass i spoke to was very helpful.
your really only likely to get a tug when running scrap in.
And when i spoke to them last year they said as long as it was only scrap i was carrying it was ok, but the scrap has to be stuff i bough for the job
i.e off cuts and part drums.
not old stuff i had ripped out

but as far as i can see that would be pretty hard for them to prove.

this was last year though so i would give them a bell.

I have one, and yes it's tier one. I just viewed it as a necessary pain the behind and got one. It's one less thing to worry about if you get stopped at a VOSA and Police check which they have round here from time to time.

I mention it in the notes of my quotes and in my T&Cs "All waste transported and disposed of by licensed contractors." I doubt it'll win me any jobs, but it might cheer up/tip the balance for a tree hugger.

Imago,
Whats the cost and requirements to obtain the license

I forget the exact cost, I think it was £128:00? It lasts for a few years and it was just a matter of filling out an online request, then they send you the certificate. It's pointless, but at least they make it simple.
