Discuss Used Rcbo's Yay or nay?? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Been asked to carry out some bathroom work including new spots, underfloor heating etc. The existing DB is an old Square D board with no rcd protection at all. Customer wont pay for a new DB, and ive priced a drop in rcbo....... £177 each. Passed this info on to the home owner, and hes complaining (surprise). He's asked me about used ones from eBay etc. Normally i would just say no but there's a few quid in the bathroom works so im trying to find asolution. So, the big question.... Used rcbo yes or no?? I did explain to the home owner that i could offer no guarantee whatsoever for the rcbo if purchased second hand.
Get the customer to supply the RCBOs

Where they not allowed in the 17th? I thought that they were I know Sparkychick posted she used them a lot on her installations.
