We could of said that when you was asking for the information on emergency lighting periodic testing not too long ago...

There's no problem in him asking, that's why Tel, KFH and Handysparks all gave constructive replies, rather than pointless offensive ones. I've not seen the wire-type clips either so it was helpful for me as well. Daz

The OP admitted to knowing of the publication, if someone had told me to obtain a copy i would have taken the advice and followed it up accordingly.

Well give them all a gold star for being star pupils, well done them. I hope they continue to carry on like that so i wont have to actually think about anything again or buy any more publications of books that may need in the future

With respect, I think that in this case the OP has an awareness of the new regulation and was just trying to meet the requirements with his new work. As the BGB is still accepted, he could have just said nothing and slung in some MT2, got paid and driven off content that he'd completed the job in a compliant way.

I agree with you that every installer should read and understand the relevant regulations for themselves, but we're talking about a few cable clips here, not anything too complex.

Jeez Dillb I don't know why you bother posting on here - your replies are mostly offensive and rarely helpful. Daz

Of all the forums I use this has got to be the most unfriendly one going. Sorry, but are we trying to scare people off here? I know people should have the new regs, but it was still a reasonable question to see what peoples thoughts were. Well done to the people that suggested the metal clips, etc. Maybe not everyone is aware of these. Daz

May as well call it Facebook if we are not allowed to talk about electrical topics. Every question on here could be answered with "go and find the answer yourself'. People get brave behind a keyboard.
