Discuss Best way of fixing boxes to crumbly walls..... in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

If you get 1 or 2 fixings drilled first, mix some decent quality drywall adhesive up (use puddle water or bird bath😉,it goes off faster) load out recess, leaving screw plugs visible, push in flush & level, fit screws loose, tighten an hour later.

I have such a property, built 1911,and this method has worked well on the other many dozen i've applied love to.

A very good pal of mine, had a similar issue....and also has a touch of Aspergers.....on giving him the same advice,he listened, and said "....but a period property like this, traditionally had only a yard at the rear...so would not have the option of an ornamental bird bath...." 😀 just can't argue with that...
