Just done the right(?) thing and got the client to have an isolator fitted before a CU change. British Gas only charges £45.

However, now I don't know what size or BS the cutout fuse is without cutting the brand new seal and looking at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only markings on it are Henley Series 4.

Comments?

Doubt BG will know. The guy they sent to fit the isolator phoned me up to say there was already one there. I scratched my head a bit wondering if I'd been 'under the influence' when I looked, and then realised he was referring to the old voltage operated earth leakage trip which I was going to rip out!

He did a neat job, but clearly knows nothing about electricity - monkey training!
There's even a dated label with the seal id on it!

If they're going to fit switches, they should mark up the cutout.
