Hi Guys,

I am replacing an old Grundfos 200 series twin head pump with one of the new fangled EUP ones, now the old ones had terminals T1 and T2 which was an on board thermal overload so you could hook it up to a plain contactor control circuit, now looking at these new ones its like Concorde cockpit with low voltage signal this and genibus that, has anyone wired one of these things up a bit of advice would be wonderful...

Thanks In Advance

some of the grundfos ones have a built in inverter now and keep the liquid at a constant pressue (what its set to on the menu etc) so they dont need controls, if the water flow drops they will ramp down, they flash red i think and will stop if there is no flow

for an example

they have the thermal protection etc built in, if they break the maintinence guys turn isolator off and pull the plug out and swap it for a new one

(i know that is a single pump but it is the same tbh reguarding thermal protection )

Hi,

I can see that the thermal overload is taken care of, but it shows the pump connected via an elcb and double pole switch, is this just applied when heating called or is it a permanent supply and the call is done via a separate signal ?, and I think the dual versions are linked together so they can have an automatic changover

cheers

they can be set to keep the water at a constant 2bar for example.

in other words when they turn the tap on the water pressure drops and the pumps kick in.

your pumps might be different however

Hi Shanky,

The pump is a heating circulator on an old kerosene boiler so I don't want the pump to come on until heat is called for, what I am saying is do I just apply live and neutral to the pump when the heat call comes or are these pumps requiring a constant supply and I apply a signal for pump to kick in ?

Thanks
Stu

a lot of these pumps just need a permenant supply with a set pressure on the pump.

this is the simplest way to do it. if your still unsure i would call the manufacturer support and ask to speak to the technical department

Don't worry m8, I just thought somebody on here might of fitted one, I haven't taken delivery of the pump yet I am just testing the water. I will tell you all about it when fitted.

cheers
Stu
