Hi everyone,

I do have HNC Electrical Engineering at grade A, also I am studying at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh: Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I have no job experience withing the UK and in my country(except the leaflets distribution, which is nothing). Currently 19, I am willing to find a job related to my degree, based on HNC Electrical Engineering.

Where to apply, what companies, what to do in general. I am not very informed regarding the British/Scottish companies, special programmes available to me etc.

I am studying full time, although working full time is possible for me - which was tested by me practically. Unfortunately it turned out that after 4 weeks of work, the employer wanted to pay 5.03 instead of 6.31 on the contract that we have signed. Therefore I resigned...

Cheers,
Jakub

wow not being funny but i would have still worked if it was a job that got you full qualified, your loss there

What Nationality are you, if you are not an EU citizen, then as a Student only Visa holder you have no right to work within the UK.

Now if you are studying for a degree, i'm buggered how you can hold down a full time job and still attend the necessary lectures and classes at the University. How long do you intend staying in the UK on a Student Visa, get used to failing course year exams if your going to work full time, legally or illegally!!

It could be a night job his after thus he shall have time to attend class and also work

Plenty of jobs going in your part of the world selling Fish/Haggis/etc suppers.
All you need to know to say is 'Dee yee waant sauce wi thaat?'

Full time nights, then off to college for the day, do me a favour, just for how long do you think you'd be able to keep that up!!

About 3days if he is lucky before he collapsed with exhaustion.

Hi all,

Job was simple KFC at Princes Mall. Nothing challenging, nothing serious. Working for full time and studying full time is perfectly possible - I know that at least 10 000 000 people in my country do that. You asked where I am from, answer is Poland.

I have a right to work here as Poland is in EU and also I am owner of my National Insurance Number. Night shifts would kill me probably second day, I like to sleep. Anyway, what about HNC Electrical Engineering prospects for me?
