Wondering if anybody can give me any further advice....
Bought the above multifunction tester brand new 3 years back. Been regularly calibrated but has been back to kewtech twice in the last year with an issue where it reads 0.00 on loop tests and o/l on pffc test scale. They charged me £200 last time and after 3 uses died again. They have now told me the unit is obsolete and not repairable yet it has barely been used in the three years of ownership.
Is this a common fault with this tester? has anybody else had this issue and managed to resolve it. Can't believe they claim its 'not' repairable when you consider robin yellow bricks have been around years no longer made yet still repairable in pretty much all eventualities.

Have they told you what is wrong with the meter?

All they have said is that the item is now obsolete and the parts are no longer available to repair it. Last time it died they said the processor was at fault which allegedly they replaced at £200 lasted all of 3 uses.

You should have immediately asked for your money back. If the unit is now obsolete and parts no longer available then this should've been conveyed to you at the time. A repair that lasts for three uses is not a valid repair ...

I suppose the moral of it all is avoid kewtech gear and stick to the trusted Robin bricks or Megger individuals. I swore i'd never by a multifunction and went against my judgement and ended up with that. Kewtech had refused a refund i tried that as they claimed they only give a 3 month warranty on any repairs completed. The test kit was used solely as a back up and got used 3 times in that period and then died. I will never touch kewtech again sadly.[emoji107][emoji107]
