And as for the stiff Combicutters, a washout with Paraffin or WD40 is much better than oil.
We go to great lengths to make sure the joint clearance is minimal for the best cutting performance.
Any ingress of muck combined with oil, will just make a sticky paste that clogs the joint.

good replies, deep down i knew i was using either wrong screwdriver for head , or squeezing till the connecors break...

i like ck stuff and i have bought numerous other 4mm flat heads and they snap easier....... keep the good work up ck...

but i do find all i ever needed replaced was the small flat heads for terminals and no-1 sells them in singles..

yep the tote one with the cable reel on the top. most of the tool box is ck. got the full range of hand tools and drivers. tbh the combi cutters are great but..

tbh the cutting area is fine on the combis as i only really use them for the smaller cable. i have the bigger pair for anything bigger than 1.5 or 2.5 the speed the two stripping holes makes to 2nd fixing is great. i did have an old pair that my ex gaffer nicely blue a hole in like them before but not quite as good

I have a full set of CK hand tools

first time i used the terminal screwdriver trying to undo a terminal screw in a pendent and the head snapped
to be fair next time i visited a wholesalers who stocked your tools he swapped it for a new one which is slightly larger and better lol

overall good set but the heads need to be a little tougher especially the pozi and the modular

Ive just purchased the ck bush spanner, gotta say im very happy with it. Brass bush have gotten slimmer in the last few years to the point it was a struggle to tighten with gland pliers.

I have had the combi cutters and found the cutting edge went dull after a few weeks cable cutting use.

If fact, i am on my second or third pair this year.

I used to use the Stanley Fat Max VDE cutters and they lasted a very long time.

Gotta admit the few bits of ck that I have used, seem quite sturdy and well built, only criticism would be that they are a little clumsy and I find others to be a little more ergonomic, but I would deffo rate them, but I do prefer my knipex/ izzy combo

I have a set of CK screwdrivers and am not too impressed with the quality of the heat treatment the tips have received. They're either too soft and deform or too hard and snap when used. As my original profession is in Precision Engineering, I do know something about metallurgy and the heat treatment of metals and I have a screwdriver that I made in the school metalwork class in 1965 which is still going strong today.

One other issue I have is with the modular plus-minus things that are supposed to fit the terminal screws we find in Consumer Units nowadays. I find that they work well on MCBs, but not on Wylex RCBOs where the plastic insulation on the shaft binds in the deep holes in the RCBOs before the screwdriver tip has reached the screw head.

As an aside, it's a great mystery to me as to why the MCB / RCBO etc. manufacturers couldn't just use hexagon socket grubb screws and be done with it instead of the veritable cornucpia of screwheads we have to deal with today.
