Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone could help me with this. I have to submit a quotation for a job but its larger than I have done before. The electrical AC side I havent a problem with its more the PV spec.

So here is what I'm working with-

The contractor shall allow for the supply and installation of 50 square meter photovoltaic roof mounted array including all wiring isolatotrs inverters surge arrestors G59/ G83 synchronisation and mains fail protection relays.

The Pv panels should have a minimum efficiency of 13 percent and be orientated in a south westerly direction at 30 degrees.

The PV installation is required to provide a minimum of 5271Kwh per year of generated electricity.

It is essential that all PV equipment is MCS certified for the government feed in tariff.

So I was wondering the best option to go down its on a new build nursery, which has 3 phase.

But is it better to just stick 3.5 kw down 2 phases and then its only G83 or do you stick a 3 phase inverter and spread over 3 phases?

If the inverter is only putting upto 16 amps each phase is it still G83? SMA tri power inverters are G69 so if you fit this does that mean that you need to have a pre DNO application?

Not sure which way to go with this one at the moment.

Was thinking 2 x sma 400tl on 2 separate phases 28 panels in total Sharp 245 nu 14 panels on each array 4 x strings of 7

Also anyone know about the display panel for the reception?

Thanks again

Erf

The PV system information display panel shall be provided as part of the PV installation. This panel shall be mounted in the waiting area. The panel shall provide a live numerical read out of current energy generation, total energy generated and co2 emissions saved. The panel shall be recessed mounted and have a brushed stainless steel finish.

All metering installed to main PV installation shall fully comply with the metering requirements detailed in OFGEM guidance note ref: 61/10 for feed in tariffs.

If the nursery is using 3 phases the your pv generation should be 3 phases because:
- better self consumption of generated power;
- no unbalanced generation fed to grid

Have a look at a tripower or an equivalent Power One model for starters. Somewhere around 8kWp array should generate what you are after.
G83 is up to 16A per phase so will take you as high as 11kW on 3 phase. Note the Sunny Tripower is certified to G83 as well as G59. Have a look on the SMA website and you will find expensive display panels or google rico displays

Bruce
