best place to get a starter electricains took kit for around 50/60 pounds but has to be decent and not tacky.
preferablly draper, CK etc....

anyone know any good online sites to get cheap gear from ? thanks

some of the tools at B&Q are good. CK and Magnusson for not too much candy. but for sidecutters, electric center are best.

As you've probably already guess for that money its going to be budget over quality but have a look around this one on ebay looks okay but factor in some sidecutters as they are not included >>>clicky<<<

A few screwdrivers and pliers etc >>>clicky<<<

I'm a big fan of Irozola stuff but its not the cheapest - here is a good price for some screw drivers >>>Clicky<<<

Depending on how quick you want the stuff or need it - maybe the option is to buy a couple of bits of tools per month that way you'll soon get your collection together - plus have some quality stuff in the end :)

If you are a trainee etc its possible that your company might be able to get some type of grant to aid you in purchasing the tools - must be worth asking the question :)

Good luck with your shopping

Make sure you have decent side cutters and screwdrivers. IMO everything else can be sorta half decent - things like snip nose pliers/ heavy duty pliers will always grip providing they aren't made of chocolate, whereas cheap cutters will become blunt quickly and cheap screwdrivers will sheer or slip at the worst time.

CK 8pc screwdrivers can be had on ebay for ÂŁ30, CK cutters for ÂŁ15-ÂŁ20 and then spend the rest of your budget on cheaper tools, building up to more expensive items as time goes on, if you feel the need of course :)
