HI guys.

I have a job currently to price, I get 99% of jobs from this client so I should get this one.

Its basically a commerical building split in to two units, one has a small office in it which is staying as it is.

The rest is to be totally re-done, recently suffered fire damage and has had a new roof put on etc.

As soon as I saw the job it seemed relitavely straight forward, I had it in my head to wire just about everything in armoured, girder clips and cleats where necessary, as there is only sockets, lights, outside lights and a sub main for the office. Its nothing massive.

Only problem is the client doesnt really want me to do this. they want me to use twin and earth as its "cheaper"

I dont like twin and earth in a commercial enviroment. They only want cables protected where they go up from sockets etc so anything high level can just be exposed.

So my only reckoning to this is to put a tray round the perimeter and tie rap my cables to that, jump up where necessary to lights and down tubes to sockets.

Does this sound okay? as in my eyes its a bit rough and Armoured would be a far better job and by the time they've finished buying a tray and all the conduit fittings it would surely be nearly as cheap to use armoured anyway..

Anyways i'll shurup, your thoughts please??

hi mate i done this for a client in a commercial unit 4x4 trunking perimeter then steel conduit drops for sockets etc , i used singles as it was constantly contained wouldnt use t&e anywhere apart from domestic.

What kind of 'commercial' building are we talking about here? I've seen a lot of commercial buildings wired in T&E in basket, where SWA would be a bit out of place.
