Hey fellas, just a quickie, I just need one if you smart fellas to clear this up! The in-laws are currently putting in their new kitchen and they have larder unit which comes with 2 LED strip lights around the inside frame with 2 double insulated pre wired LED drivers. Father-in-law was trying to tell me all about it (he's an air con engineer, so really great at just about making of 3 core flexs! Lol!) and said he was just gonna slap both wires into a plugtop. Now me, being a good spark and good son-in-law tried to tell him that a plugtop is not really designed for 2 cables and it's bad practise, put it on two separate plugs or a fuse spur. He pointed out that a fuse spur is the same principle as a plugtop. Just wondered if there was anything more technical I could of hit him with?
sorry in advance for what I'm sure is a very boring post, I don't want all your brains working hard, it is Sunday after all!!

cheers

Technically, you're quite correct, but so long as it's all mechanically sound I wouldn't lose sleep over it, there are many many worse crimes go on in fitting kitchens!

You used to be able to buy extension leads with two wires coming out of one plug each going to 2 gang trailing sockets, maybe you can still get plugs designed for two cables

But trees do grow biggest the closer to water. And people who live in glass houses should really think about a more suitable living space.

Oh and welcome back Glenn
