How to get my son finished off with AM2 after losing job ?

Hi guys and gals, need some advice for my son, he left school at 16 and started an Apprentiship to be an Electrician ( Good lad lol), he has completed many courses with the company he was with ie 2330 level 3 etc but was working towards his AM2 with only 4 months left of training when he got dismissed through a lot of personal reasons going on at home with myself and ex partner, he is 21 in december and has gone the right route to be an electrician ie serving an apprenticeship, this is all different from when i did it, what do you think the best route is for him now as he is finding it hard to get an interview with employers because of being dismissed ?, i know its easy to say because hes my son but he is a good grafter and thoroughly enjoys the job.

take him on as your apprentice, and try to get the grant from the government. My accountant set up my limited company for me for £50. The paperwork is slightly more involved than a sole trader, but if your accountant is worth his wage, he'll guide you through it all. You'll have to google the government grant, but why don't you start another thread because I remember a few weeks ago a forum member was talking about how he had done it.

There's a lot of experienced people on here. A limited company might be more profitable for you too as the amount you can take from it tax free. The wages you pay your son would be tax deductible too.

that is definitely food for thought as they say, he knows more than me with this new system, apparently he has completed 2330 level 3 and the AM2 gives him the competency side of it, if thats right so you might have started something here lol as i already use a name for me contracting which wouldn't be hard to set up as a company, see how this forum can change peoples lives lol, many thanks for all your help Voltz
