Discuss Hyundai Panel expansion gap? in the Solar PV Forum | Solar Panels Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have not yet discovered in any of the manufacturers data a specific expansion gap between panels. Any input on this to give a newbie a break Please.

we use a standard 2cm gap between panels, both for expansion and to prevent them knocking together in the wind - this is also the size of the shuco panel clips.

expansion gaps though usually relate to the rails on large industrial systems, rather than between individual panels as such, and would usually be about 15mm every 12m or so if using a full length rail all the way down the array. That's the sort of distance that thermal expansion can become problematic at.

Crystal, more of a practicality rather than necessity in the domestic solar arena. Thanks for saving me hours on tech help phone line waiting melodies:)

One more if i may: The L&G generation meter (if makes vary?). Which way to wire? to me the load is the grid and supply is the pv. Or does the supply side of meter require a constant feed ie the consumer side, in which case the generation stats would be recorded as reverse feed figure from the meter?

The load is the grid, as you say..
If you were to wire it up the other way then it would not increase when PV is producing.

I hope this helps..
