How true that is!

Had a "shot across the bows" 3wks ago. Give up this, that n t'other and you'll live longer, or it'll feel like you are!

Still. Got the wee grandson so suppose I ought to try me best. Haven't shown him how to make a Dutch arrow yet.

........... or solder a Stop End to a gas pipe. :46:

I think it's someone playing games again!

Well we're trying our best to help the OP, but he's not proving us with enough information on his problem.

We keep asking him for more info, but he takes ages to come back and when he does come back he STILL doesn't have
the info !! :32::banghead:

So, while we're waiting we're just having a bit banter amongst ourselves. :)

I'll have to go off topic here. And I apologise in advance.

Got home 3 Mondays past with a headache that I can only describe as someone squeezing me left eye in a spoon, so went for a lie down, as you do.

Two hours later got up without thinking I may have slept. My left arm wouldn't work, must've been the way I lay I thought. Stood up my left leg gave way then I realised the left side of my face felt like I'd just come out the dentists and the novocaine was wearing off.

Being a dumb ****e bloke didn't tell the missus until the next Saturday. Within the hour of telling swmbo I was in Durham County Hospital. I'd had an "ITA" or mini stroke in plain English.

Frightened the crap out of me, but I've always had a stressful life, nothing cool and calm like I dreamed of when I was a wee bairn. Had a headache last night and because of what happened 2 1/2 weeks ago I spent the night reading, too scared to go to sleep.

I think what I'm trying to say is stuff the stiff upper lip and do the cry for wolf if you have any weird feelings in your body.

I'm now swallowing 7 different tablets a day so sleep is no longer an option as my gut sounds like a half empty Smarties jar!

Sorry for above post

Just typing it out has made me feel better.

Apologies not required.
This place isn't only for technical twaddle, sparks are humans too.

Mate, you'd be better putting down exactly what you were testing ie between L and N or L and E ?
and you should obtain an infinate resistance if you'd wired it correctly. ie it says nothing or 99.9 M ohms on the meter if you were testing between either of the above.

I used a KT35 - a Continuity and Insulation tester. Recenlty Calibrated.
As I say I got a reading from the upstairs lights but not from any other MCB.
All MCB's were off.
All light/sockets were switched off. All light bulbs out, aprt from one I accidently left in bedroom ceiling light.
It was as if I was not testing, but the upstairs lights were fine..??!!??!! No readings.

why turn the light switches off and take bulbs out? surely if u take bulbs out you leave the switches on so you are IR testing the whole circuit including switch lines

The circuit looks as if it's OK probably saying your meter is showing out of range
