Afternoon Chaps

I went to look at a job today where the owner wants a PIR Flood Light installed at the rear door.

The property in question is a veterinary practice and the problem is the upstairs flooring is laid with Vinyl tiles throughout, so there is absolutely no way the flooring can come up.

My question is what do the regs say about sticking the PIR Flood light on a 13A plug? I cant seem to find anything on this anywhere in the regs!

Thanks for your help

Mark

With regard to 13a plug i believe its classed as portable/fixed appliance and thus comes under the prifix for PAT testing and as long as its fused correctly and fit for purpose i see no problems and of cause it goes without saying the socket circuit has no issues either.

Big building which has 32 x 70W Metal halide flood light. If changed with the CFL. Is it better than the metal halide one. How reliable is the CFL one? Brand name company, they don't have anything in their stock. they only do HPS or HID.

Nothing wrong with taking it into a plug top but remember to downsize the fuse. I agree with Johnboy, in regard to spurring from a local socket.

Either way is good for me
