Screwdriver sizes.... which are good, which are a waste of space??

There has been lots of talk of which brand is best, but I just wondered what are the actual sizes that people find most usefull day in day out.

Slotted in 3mm and 3.5mm..... are they both necessary? Half a mm seems a very small difference.

Are there any that people should avoid completely

3mm for light fittings and switches, 4mm for socket outlets/spurs etc, pozi 2 and 6.5mm slot for DB's

Those are the main (ish) ones but you will no doubt accumulate an abundance of different sizes that just take up space in you toolbox.

The special DB drivers are handy too.

Big, medium and termie in slotted and pozi does me most of the time. Floorboard slotted in the 2nd bag for the big beggars.

I'd think a million drivers in half mil increments would be a waste of time, but I have worked with one guy who uses all sizes of driver, is continually swapping and it works well for him - it's a rare day he'll scratch the font of an accessory, for example. Whatever you feel comfortable with, I spose.

a 10mm slotted is a must if you do any traywork or trunking! you can use smaller slotted drivers with gutterbolts, but you cant get the purchase on the bolt like you can with the right size tool.

I Keep CK Dextro Slotted 3mm, 4mm, 5.5mm, 8mm & 10mm and Irazola Technoplus PZ0, PZ1 & PZ2 in my bag. I also have a Irazola Non Insulated set in my van which has PZ3, PH1, PH2 & PH3 as well as some stubbie drivers although this doesn't get used too much, it proved a lifesaver on the few occasions it has been.

Hook line and sinker, thought the whole thing was non conductive turned out it was only the shaft that was fireglass not the tip gutted still kept it though
