Hi everyone I'm New here.
I need to add a a couple of 12V ACC plugs into my ute via a 4 pin micro relay.
It will be switched via the key so the plugs turn off as pernormal with the key.
BUT, I was wanting to mount a SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) switch into the circuit somewhere so I can turn the plugs on even when the key is off.
Question is, how and where do I mount the switch.

Thanks in advance, Reuben

Sorry cannot help on the question, but welcome anyway.
The positioning of the switch is down to the space you have available and your convenience.
Electrically you need a permanent supply on one side of the switch and the normal ignition controlled supply on the other side, these would feed out via the common to the relay or acc plugs.

Hi John Deere,Legendary blacksmith of self-cleaning plough share fame...i always think these arrangements are best kept as simple as possible,so try and drop the relay. Either way it is configured, cable of sufficient size to suit load, will need to be run from battery/fuse board, and however you wire the relay, you will not be able to ensure coils are not energised when no load is drawn to acc. Best to feed via correct fusing, through switch, toggle, rotary or whatever, and KNOW what is fed or not. Out in the bush, you only want to be waving a fishing rod about, not a multimeter :conehead:
