How can it be that companies that have failed are able to re-register with the mcs bodies and more importantly recc within months of going under.

I've spoken about solar creations ltd on here before. Note what it says here, it's the same at companies house SOLAR CREATIONS LIMITED of PE11 2TA in LINCOLNSHIRE ENGLAND
Now if I do a search for local mcs registered businesses on the recc, napit or microgeneration websites what do I find......................................a pi55 take in my opinion.

I don't know what the RECC can do legally, but I agree that it is a problem.
Some firms fold their companies as part of an ongoing plan - leaving all their warranties worthless and all of the past complaints against them meaningless. They start with a new company and a clean slate.

Unless the companies/people concerned are actually doing anything illegal then it is difficult to see what MCS/RECC can do about it.

There can be a case of fraud, depending upon what has happened:

Can the RECC refuse a new company if they believe the new company is, in effect, a rebranding of an old one AND their previous business practices contravened RECC code of conduct?

What is the point of recc if they can't do anything about it? They claim to be a necessary evil to protect the buying public from the very people they can't do anything about:banghead:

surely that's passing off as well isn't it to name yourself slightly differently to a company that also operates in that area.

It's strange that when you post something in this part of the forum it comes to the attention of the powers that be and then they actually do something, whether it's sending out letters saying don't be naughty or kicking off the mcs and recc register companies like solar creations/think renewables :30: Anyway it's good to see this bunch gone.
