Guys

Can someone explain 50mm gap rule what`s acceptable is PVC conduit ok protected by mcb?or rcbo?

cheers

I believe it's new to the 17th Ed Regs.

If the depth is less than 50mm then protection must be put in place, ie: Steel Conduit.
There's more to this but it's easily found in the regs.

going off whats been stated im assuming that you are referring to the 50mm in depth rule?
where if the cable is not in a recognised cable zone it must be buried to a depth exceeding 50mm. unless it is offered protection via mechanical protection which in turn must be earthed.

Cheers Sand Dancer, not sure if PVC is ok
if the cable is over 50mm deep you can use pvc conduit, otherwise you would be required to use metal conduit or metal capping, as i said this needs to be earthed.
