Hi All

I am looking for some good quality LV downlighters can anyone recommend a make please. Called out today to look at kitchen downlighters only 1 of the 6 were working most had the transformers knackered some had poor connections at bulb holder showing signs of heat.

The transformers fitted are Micromark 25 - 60w non dimmable the DL's are Powerlectric 12v 50w, the customer wants the replacements to be dimmable.

Thanks

Mark

I hate the things myself, always give problems probably due to lack of air circulation and heat not being able to get away.
Have you considered GU 10s and doing away with the transformer route ?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

No I hadn't thought of that do they not give off so much heat? or would that not matter as it is the tranny that suffers from the heat? Can you get them in the eyeball adjustable type do you know and would they still be dimmable?

Well, im gonna go against the grain here and say i prefer (if i had to fit them) 12V over mains.

Much crisper and brighter light output.

Head on over to TLC's on the Bitterne Road, and have a look at some:
