hello I would like to add a double socket to my shed, I wanted to know if I could spur of a socket indoors with 2.5 t&e run underground in conduit to the shed for the double socket its approximately 25 meter run, This will only be powering a tv and soundbar nothing else.

That method doesn't offer enough mechanical protection to the cable. The circuit requires RCD protection of some kind, have you got that in the house DB? This really should be run in Steel Wired Armour (SWA) or High Tuff. If it's to be buried in the ground then an absolute minimum of one spade depth is required so there's much less risk of someone hitting it and causing an electric shock - even with SWA. A yellow warning tape goes over the top too.

Hello thank you for your reply, Yes there is RCD on the DB board, The cable is run underground about 500mm deep in 20mm flexi conduit where no works will ever be carried out is this possible at all?

Grey t&e is never suitable for external use, even buried.

It can be degraded by UV light if exposed to the sun, and rodents love to chew it.

As mentioned, armoured cable would give sufficient protection.

I would spur it, then go through a double pole fused switch, so the outside part can be easily isolated in the even of a fault.

Ideally, the cable should come from its own circuit direct from the CU
