Kostal Inverters

Hello, anybody had any experience with these? I've one tofit this week. I'm using it instead of the usual 4000tl's,that have becomeincreasingly more difficult to source since the madness began!

I've got 16 REC 240PE (same orientation) to fit with a Kostal Piko 3.6. The softwareand manual suggest one string of 16 using the inverters parallel function. Isthis correct?
any information of experiences with these inverters would be greatly appreciated.

I've fitted a few of these recently. They're a great all-round inverter.

I've done a couple of sums and you could use the 16 panels in one string or you could spread two strings over two MPPTs - probably a better option, especially if there is any shade.

do you know what their IP rating is by the way? waiting for a fronius but will use a kostal if they are suitable

If I remember correctly they are IP55

Bigg solar, thanks for the reply. I downloaded the pikoplan software/excel spreadsheet. with 2 strings of 8 the calcs say the Vmpp is low and it shows REF against the MPP voltage under STC. The Max current per string is 9A, the REC's are 8.4 so thats OK. Id prefer to split into two strings, but the software is throwing me a curve ball. Are you pretty sure of your sums?

Yeah, it's no problem. It is 9A per MPPT. Or you can parallel the inputs and go up to 13A.
