as the title led flood lights, has anyone used them yet? good or bad, only uses 3 watts cheap enough to buy but i can`t be bothered stuck up a ladder to have to take it down the next day if it`s rubbish.

If it is just the the diode type LED don't bother. I tried one for a customer, you can get more light from a candle. The high power CREE chips are the only ones worth entertaining, but they are expensive. I have someone wanting to try the CFL retro bulbs, but not too sure what they are like.

We fitted some on a hospital recently (specced by health trust). Must admit I was very sceptical about their effectiveness but they are pretty dam good!. The make eleudes me now but I'm off there in a minute so I'll get the info then.

Ive used some, they are expensive and you have to be careful if you want the right colour tempreture, the ones i put in were about 1500lm but cool and great for there job of lighting a small path way, the warmer you get the less light output. The optic's make a big diffrence too.
If your looking at getting them you need to invest as the only ones that are good are expensive. Look out for the cree LED's they are great, altough there are more led's currently coming to the market like Luminus which are kicking out well over 100 lm/w.

Solid state lighting is the way forward!
