Hey guys,
I’m Marc, admin over on the tilers Forum. :D

Quick question if I may please.
In middle of Tiling shower area in an ensuite and the electrician has put a fused spur opposite the shower head for a towel rail, can you tell me if this is within regulations please.
The distance between each wall is 2.35m and I’ve attached an image to show its position.
The red circle right side shows the spur location.
Thanks very much.

> 0.6m from edge of shower tray will comply (out of zones).. if there's any danger of water splashes to the FCU< then a IP rated one should be fitted.

is that a door way near the S/F by any chance?

it's not a doorway, it's a portal into another dimension.

What putting the FCU outside the ensuite, and flex outlet plate inside. Just in case the FCU gets showered, and house owner turns it on stood in pool of water, silly billy.

Incidentally Marc, those tiles look cracked to me, or someone's not been careful with their hob nail boots :)

i'm just wondering why there's a climbing wall there.

It is fine but I would have the FCU outside the room and then an outlet plate for the rail ................
Done that plenty times too but not always possible.

Is an outlet plate any better in terms of IP ratings than an unswitched FCU though?
