Hi I have a problem i'm hoping someone can help me with.

A client has a test cell area in their factory which has 4 e-stops which they want to disconnect the ring circuit and 3 MMCB Terasaki ( 2x 250 A and 1x 630 A) via the shunts. A previous electrician has wired these through a contactor relay so if you press the e-stop it kills the power to the sockets but obviously kills the feed to the shunt which will now work ( and they couldn't understand why the shunts kept burning out).

The client would like the 4 e-stops to kill everything but i need to de-energise the sockets and at the same time energise the shunts. The only thing i can think of is having a separate e-stop for each MCCB situated next to each panel.

Thanks in advance

Thread moved to the DIY section due to the OP not being an electrician as per previous thread. Hope you are just asking for advice for your client and not thinking about doing such a job yourself?

To be really honest SThomp.. you are asking a question relating to a critical safety system, the regulations around this are very strict and also a risk assessment would need writing up, I think on this occasion it is in your best interests that the forum does not advise you in such matters for the protection of your liability and the concerns of the users of such a system, this kind of set up really should be designed and commisioned by a competent person with all the details and not through a internet discussion. I hope you can see where I'm coming from here as this would be out of the scope of most of our members.
I do these kinds of systems for a living so I feel I'm in a good position to issue the above advice.

Apologies but I'm closing this thread in the interests of safety - this is well beyond the scope of DIY.
